Phenytoin sodium 250 mg/5ml

Loading dose of phentolept is: 10 - 15mg/kg. it should be injected slowly intravenously, at a rate not exceeding 50mg per minute in adults (this will require approximately 20 minutes in a 70 kg patient) The loading dose should be followed by maintenance doses of 100 mg orally or intravenously every 6 to 8 hours

- It is indicated for the treatment of tonic-clonic (grand mal) and psychomotor (temporal lobe) seizures and prevention treatment of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery.
- Also indicated for management of status epilepticus
